Teaching Experience: University of Hawaii, Honolulu, Hawaii-- Insect Embryology Miami Dade Community College, Miami, Florida---- Horticulture, Turf Management Broward Community College, Davie, FL ---Human Anatomy and Physiology Broward Community College, Coral Springs, FL ---Human Anatomy and Physiology Palm Beach Community College, PGA, FL --Human Anatomy and Physiology Palm Beach Community College, Lake Worth, FL ---- Biology, Earth Science, Biological Concepts, Environmental Conservation With a field experience of working in diverse areas of many disciplines including Botany, Zoology, Entomology, Nuclear Radiations, Radio Isotopes, Horticulture, Silviculture, and teaching courses in the field of Environmental Science, I feel very competent to head this organization and achieve the objectives of illuminating the field of environment as it should be seen, not with the eyes of the incompetent nescient politicians but with the opinion of the professionals in the field who not only possess the talent but also the solutions for the incongruous situation. As a research fellow in the Cento Institute of Nuclear Science, while working with the cancer research, I developed effective relationship with the Iranians, Turkish, Bangladesh, British and American scientists, gained their trust and learned about their outlook in the field of environmental tribulations facing humanity especially in biology including radiation, crops or animals. The exposure to horticultural field and the diversity in the fauna and flora of the islands of Hawaii immensely impressed me and enlightened me in the direction of richness and diversity of our planet’s environment as depicted in those islands character plus the production of new terrestrial areas in the big island. The horticultural studies revealed to me the significance of plants in catering to the needs of the planet. While leading a group of scientists on the budgeted project of population study of boll weevils in the cotton crop in the distant parts of India, the significance of efforts of groups working on the improvement of crops for the availability of nourishments of the residents overwhelmed me. But on the other hand, the disregard of environmental principles by the population in order to feed their children forced me to digest that ideology relative to the misery of the humanity. During my endeavors, ( 1964) I traveled by road on my own vehicles in many countries like Germany, Britain, Austria, France, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium, Holland, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan. Not only it gave me a first hand experience of the topography of these countries, but also provided me the opportunity to deal with the inhabitants, learn their culture and observe their environment and achievements of humanity. I still remember the hardships and terrifying experiences I endured when traveling through Sivas in Turkey and through desert in Iran traveling from Zahedan to Quetta when there was no asphalt road in 1964. In addition I have worked and traveled in Caribbean islands like Puerto Rico, Honduras, Jamaica, Peter Island providing answers to many tough questions in fields of environmental horticulture. The enthusiasm of Costa Rica to educate their population running three shifts in their schools in 24 hours left a great impression on me. I am very interested in improving the educational situation in the United States. Before election, I have heard all presidential candidates, senators, congressmen accentuate that they would improve the education as soon as they were elected but that promise is never fulfilled. The education is still so poor in this country that our students never top the list when competing with the students of all other countries of the world. It definitely proves that our top planners of the education system are not thinking of the students when making recommendations but are trying to plan a system in which everyone involved in this field gains some financial retribution in the form of federal funds and the education itself gets neglected. With the help of some concerned foundations, I want to give attention to improving the educational condition of the immigrants who come to USA and participate in becoming radiant citizens. |
