CODES OF ETHICS As a member of this association you would pledge to the following codes of ethics 1. The members would keep the principles of sustainable development and conservation of environment in high esteem in their professional performance depicting an advanced level of environmental literacy leading to the conservation of resources for the next century. 2. A member would always communicate and disseminate accurate information related to environment. It is the duty of the member to equip him/her with the information by reading the articles published by the association in the field of environment along with other environmental literature and refrain from the non-professional views on the subject as expressed by the public or political parties. 3. A highest academic standard and achievement would be demonstrated in the planning, implementation and completion of the project at all levels whether as main contractor or as subcontractor. A member would avoid personal convictions in the performance of professional duties with honest representation. 4. A member would attempt for the excellence in the profession by acquiring and enhancing own knowledge and skills for the maintenance of professional competency. The member can document his/her level of achievements by attending conferences, courses and seminars. The competency should be claimed within limit of education, training, certification and supervised experience. 5. Human health and Welfare is the major object of consideration. No treatment would be done by the member which could result in the demise of the immediate members of the community, or affect a distant community by the performance of a task in the environment. A member, in all honest dealings with other human beings, would keep in mind that the fundamental human’s rights would be protected with honesty at all levels irrespective of the diversity of the cultures. 6. Clients would always be treated with fairness, civility and good faith. The highest standard of dealings is expected to show the tolerance and professionalism in negotiation of the contract or the performance of the project. 7. A member would never take a step which would affect the humans by his activities either offending or resulting in humiliation in any manner irrespective of the race, color and belief of the individuals. Human dignity would be maintained at all levels. 8. In case of a paucity in the performance capability, the member would recommend another certified member of the association possessing the appropriate academic qualifications and experience for the particular project. 9. A member would maintain his or her conduct free of drugs, alcohols and other chemicals at all times. Any member accused of misbehavior under the influence could lose his Board certification with the association. 10. Adherence to the statues, rules and regulations of the controlling authority is of the utmost importance and should be followed even though the member doubts in its accuracy. The member would bring it up to the association so that the concepts can be cleared either in the department or at legislative level. In no way, association invites you to ignore the statutes, rules and regulations set by the department governing your profession. 11. A member would disclose all charges of his service in a professional manner and would not insist upon the hidden fees, bills, if they were not communicated in writing before the start of the project. 12. A member would perform his work with dedication and honesty to finish in promised time and exhibit professional excellence in the fields of environment and education. 13. It is the duty of the member to bring to the attention of the Committee of Code of Ethics if he or she has a direct knowledge of misappropriation of funds or fraud or any other violation of code of ethics done by another member of the association. 14. A member would provide requested professional service to persons of all races, color, religion, sex, or national origin and this statement would be included in all their advertisement and representation. 15. A Board certification signifies the highest levels of integrity, fairness and competency as well as moral character in relation to business dealings shown by the member in the last 3-4 years as attested by the clients. 16. Any member charged with unethical practices or in violation of the code, would provide all pertinent facts in front of the Committee controlling the Code of Ethics and would abide by the decision reached by the Committee after evaluation of all facts represented by all people involved in this discrepancy. 17. A member would not use any derogatory language in their communication in verbal or written language when dealings with the clients or any official of the association. 18. The member would practice highest level of confidentiality when sharing the information of the client with the office, colleagues, or other members of the association. |
