AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIANS

Purpose:

It is a society of individuals sharing a common interest in education and environment; its effect on Planet Earth and beyond.  This group of individuals would provide teamwork and cooperation in understanding needs of the minority and immigrants in the fields of social welfare and educational needs; assisting them to learn basic social and technical skills enabling them to participate fully in the modern society.  Emphasis would be placed on declining trends in U.S. adult literacy and education, and the factors involved in the failures of current techniques, and implications of illiteracy of labor force.  The association would bond members together to promote recognition and distinction in these fields. It would represent professionals in industry, government, academia consisting of instructors and students, and anyone else whose work represents educational significance.

In addition to promotion of environmental techniques of sampling, observations, measurements of various effects, this Association would provide a forum for the environmental technicians which encompasses, besides actual workers in the field; professionals in planning, research, and guidance in making critical decisions at congressional level and beyond in the field of environment.

It would provide platform for the members to achieve distinction in their fields and get certified for their professionalism by the association.  This certification would endorse the competence of the recipients for their knowledge and skill exceeding the required level for the jobs in their areas as well as acceptance of the codes and ethics established by the association and member’s accountability.

This association would actively lobby in the legislative branches at state and federal levels on behalf of its members for their causes, recommendations, and clarifications.
